A wolf in sheep’s clothing by mr.zoltanblack

The fix was in at last Saturdays NBA slam dunk competition.

Prior to the tip-off of the most exciting match of the NBA All-star weekend, Friday night’s rookie, sophomore challenge (God, if only all basketball could be this entertaining) I found myself shuffling around behind the scenes trying to find the weekends big "scoop." I found nothing, even worse I was threatened by a brute by the name of "chocolate thunder" Darryl Dawkins, "if you don’t stop snooping around back there I’m gonna stick that camera right up your . . . " Oh Daryl, how sweet. At nearly seven feet tall and tipping the scales at a round two hundred and fifty-pounds "sir slam" "double d" "chocolate thunder" ex-NBA high flyer Darryl Dawkins is a walking, talking lesson in intimidation.

Unfortunately the 07/08 NBA All-star weekend produced no greater story than the verbal abuses I suffered at the sharp tongue of "double d" Darryl Dawkins. Lacking a comprehensive story and feeling slighted by the remarks of Mr Dawkins has made it quite easy to overlook my principals and share a story that can be verify as no more then a ridiculous rumour.

Mr Dawkins having not received the acclaim, success or financial security of the others on the judging panel was out to collect and Scumbag Roy San-Diego’s least known bookie was prepared to pay out if Mr Dawkins could somehow guarantee a winner in a competition not decided by the judges but decided by the fans. Dawkins was more then sure that he could deliver, he was positive that the stud cast of Dominique Wilkins, Dr.J....Julius Erving, Karl Malone and Earvin "magic" Johnson would surely be able to sway any crowd with the excitement of their experienced eyes. How "double d" decided on Dwight Howard as his horse in this one horses race is still not entirely clear to me. What was clear was that to turn that panel in favour of one candidate would require a more reputable endorsee then Mr Dawkins, mainly long time international fan favourite Magic Johnson. And so it was that my less then reputable source overheard a less then reputable source (double d, Darryl Dawkins) passing the endorsement of Dwight Howard onto the ever present shoulders of Magic Johnson. Magic, the one man responsible for the dramatic swaying of not only an entire judging panel but a world wide TV audience in favour of a man who wasn’t named Gerald Green. Highway Robbery.
