Algeria 1-0 Egypt

The nation of Sudan played host to the bitter rivalry in World Cup history between Algeria and Egypt. It appeared that both teams were competing for domination but Antar Yahia scored a goal for Algeria within 39 minutes of the game with a free kick in the air and past the goalkeeper.

The ball reached the underside within the bar. Egypt attempted to recover but the beginning goalkeeper for Algeria Fawzi Chaouchi blocked all of the attempts by the Pharoahs [Egypt's National Team].

In the end, Algeria was able to qualify for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. This was the first time in 24 years that Algeria classified.

Greece 1-0 Ukraine

Greece faced the Ukraine in Donetsk with Dimitris Salpigidis scoring a goal after receiving the ball from teamate Georgios Samaras. Greece managed to squeak through the classification after the Ukraine made many mistakes in attempting an equalizer.

This is the first time since 1994 that Greece has qualified for the World Cup.

Thanks for this.  I see the Canadian team lost again.  Although 1-0 against Poland is respectable

An injury time goal from Lukas Podolski rescued a 2-2 friendly draw for Germany against Ivory Coast on Wednesday, the home team's first game since last week's suicide of keeper Robert Enke.

Germany took an 11th-minute lead when Guy Demel brought down Stefan Kiessling and Podolski sent the keeper the wrong way from the penalty spot.

The Ivorians equalised in bizarre fashion. Halftime substitute keeper Manuel Neuer attempted to clear a back pass but the ball bounced off Emmanuel Eboue and dribbled into the net. Seydou Doumbia put the visitors in front after 85 minutes with a blistering drive before Podolski's late strike.

Has there been any news recently concerning South Africa's stadiums and if the workers went on strike?
