Mumbai: The ICC has dismissed media reports that the trophy given to India after it won over Sri Lanka in the World Cup final on Saturday was not a replica as suggested by some media reports.

Media reports said that the original cup was seized by the Indian customs departing and pending clearance of the import surrounding it, the ICC urgently got a replica made for the prize presentation ceremony.

The ICC has said that in fact it was the replica that was seized by the customs. The replica was made for the publicity purpose it said and added that soon after the replica was cleared from the customs, it would be kept in the ICC office in Dubai.
