World Cup's cheapest tickets reserved for South Africans
Tickets for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa will go on sale Friday February 20 to the general public. However, the cheapest tickets will be reserved for South Africans as Fifa has blocked off 16% of the tickets strictly for South African residents. Fifa will also hand out 120,000 free tickets of the cheap variety to South Africans with 40,000 of it going to workers who helped build the new stadiums. These measures are taken to prevent the transaction of black market trading of cheap tickets. International fans may have to pay between $80 to $900 pending on the match and category of the seats.
World football body Fifa aims to prevent a black market trade in cheap tickets for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa by making tickets for the tournament only available for collection in the country, Fifa announced on Wednesday.

yay, already ticket sale time. Exciting! It is good to see "cheap" tickets reserved for South Africans, as the majority of the population would probably not be able to afford the tickets for such a big sport event in their homeland otherwise.
