‘YOU CAN’T HANDLE THE TRUTH!’

In a manner reminiscent of Col. Nathan Jessep, Jack Nicholson’s character in A Few Good Men, I’m tempted to tell Texas Longhorns football fans, “YOU CAN’T HANDLE THE TRUTH!” It appears, however, that someone beat me to the punch when it comes to clearly spelling out lessons learned by fans on both sides of the equation after the final regular season BCS rankings were released Sunday.

According to a local television news report, a plane flew over the University of Texas campus in Austin Thursday, towing a banner that said: “Hey Mack, quit whining. U knew the rules.”

The kicker?  According to the news report, it was a pair of anonymous UT fans who paid $2,200 for the message to fly.
