The Detroit Red Wings are keeping a huge part of their successful team in place for the next decade.
The Detroit Red Wings have agreed to a contract extension with forward Henrik Zetterberg worth slightly more than US$72 million over 12 years.
Zetterberg has played all six of his NHL season in Detroit with the Red Wings after being drafted 210th overall, yeah 7th round, in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft. With 375 points in 400 regular season games and 53 points in the playoffs, Zetterberg has proven to be a steal. First overall pick in 1999? Patrik Stefan 455 games and 188 points.
