St Teresa is not a doctor ecclesiase for nothing

I am not likely to sign up for the David Kuo 'I am a poor naif who found my profoundest beliefs betrayed by wicked hypocrites in the White House' newsletter but this is good, from Rod Dreher, who observes:

Which reminds me of a quote attributed to St. Teresa of Avila: "There are more tears shed over answered prayers than unanswered ones."

One wonders how we will advert to those words in the days and months following tomorrow's elections.
