Stafford Fire Chief Arrested In Sex Case

December 13, 2006 Texas - The chief of the Stafford Fire Department was arrested Tuesday after being named in a sealed indictment by a Fort Bend County grand jury on charges of sexual assault of a child. Michael Shawn Melton, 45, of Spring, surrendered at the Fort Bend County Jail about 3:30 p.m. said sheriff's spokeswoman Terriann Carlson.
