OTIS DAY & THE KNIGHTS
In celebration of the 25th anniversary of Animal House.
In 1978 DeWayne Jessie was part of Universal Studios' stable of character actors when he was offered the role of Otis Day, the roadhouse rhythm and blues singer in the movie 'Animal House, National Lampoon's funny tribute to fraternity life. Now he's Otis for life. Though it lasted just two scenes, Jessie's role was among the most memorable - first for the toga-party rendition of 'Shout!' and then for their appearance at the Dexter Lake Club.
A few days after the movie was released, Otis Day & The Knights went on the road and the rest is Rock N' Roll history.
The Jessie/ Otis Day concert repertoire is about what you'd expect - movie favorites 'Louie Louie,' 'Shout!' and 'Shamalama Ding Dong,' mixed in with old standards like 'Function at the Junction.' Plus of course stuff from his new album.

Their performance is a fast-paced, high energy, musical show with full-size flags waving as they run, gallop and trot around the arena. They have earned the motto, “Fun, Fast, & Furious!” They AND their horses will love performing for the Fair.
J.P. PATCHES

When KIRO TV went on the air in 1958, the first live show was J.P. Patches. THE SOUTH END STRING BAND
'Homegrown Music & Bootleg Wit'
The South End String Band has been stewing so long in their own nettle juices down in the South End backwash they decided it was high time to bottle it and market the stuff to unsuspecting off-islanders. These gnarly geezers are cask-aged to perfection and their old time fiddle music is naturally carbonated. Homegrown, fog ripened, unadulterated, antibiotic free, 100 proof organic Ñ one swig of this South End elixir will cure what ails ya and put an end to those multi-syllabic pharmaceuticals. So if your music's lost its flavor, come down for a taste of something so old it's practically brand new. We think one sip of the South End String Blend will convince you to change your brand for good. Try some today! South End String Band:
"A taste so hot, it beats the others cold."

ANTIQUE THRESHING DEMONSTRATION
The 1916 threshing machine, owned by Louis Stubbs, has been in use since the demos began in 1959. About 1.5 acres of grain is harvested then bound by a 1937 McCormick Deering binder. Dried bundles are then positioned near the thresher. After adjusting the 11 belts of varying lengths, two men pitch bundles into the machine. Two more workers fill and sew the sacks filled with the grain from the thresher. The leftover grass is blown into a large pile for baling later. Franklin Hanson, his sons, and friends have been doing the demos for the past several years. Old-timers reminisce and youngsters watch in amazement at how this is all done at the Fair on Saturday and Sunday at approximately 2:00 pm.
