Starbucks chairman Howard Schultz came to Vancouver for media interviews. After getting off SkyTrain at Waterfront Station, I stumbled upon the more TV cameras, police and security than is customary, where the Starbucks has been for 20 years, according to one of the ladies in the entourage.
The first location, which was only No. 10 worldwide, opened in 1987 at the Vancouver Seabus Skytrain Station. "I was right there behind the counter 20 years ago," said Starbucks
chairman Howard Schultz, who himself can't believe the growth of the coffee chain (238 locations) in the Lower Mainland.
