A campaign to get the world to vote on the seven modern wonders of the world has begun. Many on the shortlist of 21 are well-known, but it is striking that the Statue of Liberty ranks number 20, between the Neuschwanstein Castle, in Fussen, Germany and Timbuktu, Mali a formerly commercial trading city.
One mystery: many NowPublic members added personal photographs to an item about Stonehenge,
yet not one image of any of the other nominees have been submitted.
The results will be announced on July 7, 2007, in Lisbon. Besides the Pyramids of Giza, none of the seven ancient wonders of the world made it to the list
