Some found that the juxtaposition of the two women conjures old questions about skin color and beauty (Kate being lighter skinned than Rasputia), about the light and dark images that haunt so many races and the fairy tales that imply the more fair the complexion, the more beautiful the woman.

I would like to know who wrote these fairy tales about fair skinned women, cause most guys I know totally love dark skinned women. But then again, most Japanese or oriental men like fair skinned women. To me it seems to be what is exotic and not familiar to a man or woman that possibly makes it attractive and a fairy tale.
