20 persons belonging to Andhra Pradesh, die in accidents

Hyderabad: Twenty persons, belonging to Andhra Pradesh, an Indian state died in two different accidents during the past 24  hours.

Nine devotees of Lord Ayyappa died when their vehicle was hit by a speeding lorry while they were on their way to Sabarimalai, a hill temple in Kerala. According to police, all the deceased were from the Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh. The devotees were in the van parked on the side of a road near Vemaluru, under Salem district of Tamilnadu, when a speeding lorry lost control and hit their vehicle head on. Four more who were injured were admitted to nearby hospital. The condition of two of them is stated to be serious.

Groom dies while bride seriously injured.

In another accident, eleven persons died in Anantapur district of Andhra Pradesh on Saturday. A three-wheeler carrying a newly wed couple hit a lorry coming in the opposite direction. The three wheeler went under the lorry and was carried to some distance. While the  groom Soma Sekhar (21) died on the spot, the bride Dhanalakshmi was admitted to hospital with serious injuries. The couple married two weeks ago was going to a relative's house with friends and relatives when the accident occurred.
