3 Concord Teens Arrested for Choking Chickens
Chicken-Choking Teenagers Arrested in Bay Area
Three teenage boys were arrested in the choking deaths of two chickens. The dead chickens were found near the chicken coop at El Monte Elementary School in Concord on November 24.
The three teens, whose names were not made public, were arrested for animal cruelty and burglary.
The investigation is continuing, however, at this time the crime appears to be a random, spontaneous act. All three juveniles were booked at CPD for animal cruelty and burglary, and released into the custody of their parents. Because of their ages, their names are being withheld. They are described as:
- 14 year-old male juvenile, Concord resident
- 15 year-old male juvenile, Concord resident
- 15 year-old male juvenile, Concord resident
Anyone with additional information about this case is asked to call CPD School Resource Officer Renee Stevenson at 925-603-5856. Anyone wishing to remain anonymous can call the Concord Police Department Tip-line at 925-603-5836.
Concord Police Lieutenant David Hughes is considering the chicken-choking to be a one-off crime at this point:
“I don’t believe this is related to anything that’s happened recently,” he said. “We don’t have a string of chicken killings we’re investigating.”
