First I have to say thank you to everyone who kept my mom and myself in your thoughts and prayers. It is a huge thing to have so many people wishing and hoping for the best for us!
And, miracle of miracles . . . all of your thoughts and prayers worked.
The results of my mom's tests yesterday were better than I could have even imagined . . . when I picked up the phone to answer her call - I knew instantly that it was good news from the sound of her voice. It turned out that the cancer had not spread from one part to the other part (as originally feared after her surgery last week), that the cancer had originated in both parts separately, meaning that neither cancer had spread anywhere. And since all of those parts were removed from her during the surgery last week and all other tests for cancer came back clean - my mom is now a Cancer Survivor and appears to be free and clear of cancer!
This is one of the weirdest roller coasters I've ever been on. It was three weeks to the day yesterday that she was diagnosed with cancer and three very long weeks later, she is now a cancer survivor!
I would be lying if I didn't say I feel a little guilty somehow - after all the stories you guys shared with me about people in your lives that have cancer or have gone through cancer - that my mom made it through in three weeks - but I think it is nothing short of a miracle and have to be extremely thankful at the same time.
Tomorrow we were already having a joint party for my dad's birthday (60 years) and my brother and sister-in-law's anniversary (10 years) and now, it will also be a celebration that my mom managed to pull through this and now has many more years ahead of her of life (God willing!).
Again - thank you to each and everyone of you who have been so supportive and caring through this. It means a very great deal to me!
