7 Year Old Steals Car Video: Boy Goes on Joy Ride To Avoid Church
A 7-year-old boy from Utah took a joy ride in his family car to avoid going to church.
Police officers received a report Sunday of a child driving recklessly. Officers then chased the 7-year-old boy as he drove past stop signs and through parking lots. The boy finally stopped at the house of a family friend and tried to run inside the home. He later admitted that he took the car so he wouldn't have to attend church.
Fortunately, local sheriff Klint Anderson didn't exactly treat the seven-year-old like Henry Louis Gates.
Anderson said the boy received a lecture, but he and his parents will not face any further punishment as a result of the incident.
"Most kids fake illness," Anderson said of those who want to skip church. "They don't take the car out and go joy riding."

Wow no charges???? the 7 year old black kid that took off with his grandma's SUV will be charged. "They want to get him into the system to get him some help!" Some BS....the one running from church need some help as well...

The laws vary state to state, the kid in Florida did a LOT of damage - probably totalling his grandmothers car as well as destroying mailboxes and damaging signs and vehicles, and whatever was in his path. One story I read indicated that the lad in Florida was arguing with his grandmother and disrespected her and disobeyed her order to put the keys down. The kid in Utah was just sneaky and didn't do any damage. I also read that while the boy in Florida was cited, no charges would be pressed. I think it is more a matter of big city vs. little city...and how laws and police officer discretion varies. I don't think either of them will be charged. What strikes me more is that the kid in Utah went to NY for an interview, but you never heard much about the kid in Florida. I read a story too about a FIVE year old taking off in a car...I would just like to know HOW they are able to drive these SUV's!!! An Escalade for crying out loud! Now there's some talent there!!

Excuse me but that little boy's rear would have be as red as a tomato.
And he would have be grounded for longer than 4 days. How about 1 year.
And church he would have been going. His parents had better get a handle on him. And fast or he is going to turn into a real problem. Which he is now. Only he will be worse. Mom and Dad had better start doing there jobs and watching there son much better. And do not leave the keys to the car laying around
