She Stole the Internet

A 75-year-old woman in Ksani, Georgia thought she was only stealing some cable... but she ended up stealing the internet from thousands of subscribers in Georgia and neighboring Armenia. It turns out that she had stolen a vital fibre-optic cable while out scavenging for scrap metal.

Incidentally, this has happened more than once in Georgia. In this case, authorities are expected to go easy on the woman because of her age, and the fact that she didn't intentionally seek to deprive Georgians and Armenians of Comixed, Honey Badger videos, or Reddit. Ironically, she's deserving of the Trollface, which those affected wouldn't even be able to see.. because she stole the internet.

One question: why was the fibre-optic cable so easily accessible?

"Taking into account her advancing years, she has been released pending the end of the investigation and subsequent trial," Gvenetadze said.
