The 7th Annual Grilled Cheese Invitational Cook-off took place in Los Angeles today, at the Los Angeles State Historic Park, that featured about 300 cheese chefs competiting in three categories:
The Missionary Position (just bread, butter and cheese)
Videos
The Kama Sutra (any savory ingredients you want)
The Honey Pot (dessert sandwiches)
Last year's winning dessert sandwich was a cannoli-inspired concoction of rum-flavored ricotta on banana bread grilled in banana-infused butter and drizzled with caramel sauce.
People, up to 1700, could pay a $5 tasting fee to pick the best sandwiches.
April is National Grilled Cheese month as well.
The winners will be announced at 5pm PST today!
