Anthony Toth has had a dream for many years now: to build an exact replica Pan Am World Airways 747 cabin in his garage, and now his dream has come true.

He has just completed the Pan Am replica first class cabin from the 1970s and 1980s, and he has spent over 20 years doing so and over $50,000.

He transfered the garage of his two bedroom condo in Redondo Beach, California in to the cabin, which is so authentic you will feel as if you are back in time on a Pan Am flight. The seats are red and blue with original overhead luggage bins, a red-carpeted curved staircase, original airline glasses complete with logo, salted almonds and even plastic-wrapped Pan Am headphones that you can unwrap and listen to in-flight video recordings from the era.

Toth, 42, is a old global sales director at United Airlines. Why is he so obsessed with Pan Am, which folded in 1991? “The brand was so powerful,” he says. “They had this uncompromising standard of service.” He hopes one day to turn his creation into a museum.

i am amazed at your story and think it is awseome to be that inspired and dedicated to have your very own "Pan Am" My sons father worked for Pan Am twice and  we were lucky enough to have flown first class many times  . .  you are right there was nothing like it!    In fact when my son was a baby, we were on the last flight from LA to New York ,and had the entire upstairs to ourselves, . .a very special memory indeed. I wish id read your story a few weeks ago as i just threw out a jar full of Pan Am Macademia nut packets that id kept for so long and didnt know what to do with. .  i would love to have given them to you.  David is 19 and enlisted in the Navy for the next 6 years. He gets his orders Dec.1st and it would be so wonderful to show him your Pan Am cabin, as without Pan Am he wouldnt be here.
