Applebees Gets Baby Drunk in Oak Park Michigan: Video
Staff at Applebees in Madison Heights Michigan Accidentally Served a Baby Tequila
Taylor Dill-Reese said her son was served alcohol in his sippy-cup at Applebees, and he had to be taken to hospital. She said that her 15-month-old son started acting strangely after just a few sips of what they thought was apple juice, but when she tasted it, she found that it was a margarita-type mix.
No one at the table ordered alcoholic drinks.
The incident allegedly happened at 4:30pm Friday at the Applebee's on 14 Mile Rd. After being checked out by doctors, the family learned the boy's blood alcohol level was .10 -- over the legal limit for an adult driver.
She said the manager did apologize for the mix-up, but didn't know what else to do.
Applebees has said the incident was unacceptable, and they are conducting an investigation.
Check out a video of the news report from Oak Park.

What I will do is question the competency of Dominic’s mother, Taylor Dill-Reese. Ms. Dill Reese, were you not at all concerned when your 15 month old son’s “apple juice” arrived in a Sombrero-styled, salt-rimmed glass? Did you not want to be the only one drinking at the table?

If it was put in his "sippy cup" his mother had to put the beverage in it from the Applebees cup. Why didn't she notice the smell of the alcohol?! Margrita mix does not smell like apple juice. The child's blood alcohol level was above the legal limit for an adult.....that child should've had SEVERE alcohol poisoning. Something just doesn't seem right about this.

I agree! I'm giving the mother some major "side eye" over here.

Wow, all of you are extremely ignorant. As the mother of 2 young boys, when you go to a restaurant and order apple juice, they always bring them out in a kids cup. Who would think to sniff the cup for alcohol? I never sniff my kids drink. I personally don't patronize Apple Bee's and think they should pay for all medical expenses incurred due to this incident. This message might be too mature or on another level for you uneducated individuals to understand.

Obviously none of u Buffoons have kids or ever been in a restaurant with a child present. Usually at many Restaurants catered to families give children Sippy Cups as they see this as an aid to parents with young children. Child can sip juice without worrying that it will spill on their face or shirt. It is clear the Apple Bee's employees where not paying attention to their orders and made a huge mistake. Good thing is mom got the tot to the hospital in good timing. Shows she is a Fit Parent.

c'mon people - you obviously do not have kids - restaurants will put juice into a sippy cup if the parent request it. the fault lies in the staff at applebees.

Mistake? Ok after reading this, It is not clear if the mother poured it into the cup or the staff. She stated NO one ordered alcohol. Why would that matter. Then there is the matter if someone drops a sippy cup in front of you, You know it is for a BABY. What if someone thought it would be funny. I Know so many mentally Ill people who think that is something funny. Either way it is very sad That you can't seem to trust anyone anymore. Scary stuff.

I wonder which Applebees this was. There isn't one in Oak Park. In fact, we have a (crazy outdated) law against liquor by the glass sales that somehow passes every time it's on the ballot, so there are no chain restaurants here at all. The closest Applebees is about 5 miles away, in Madison Heights, MI.

Ah, and after reading the original FOX article, it was indeed Madison Heights.

As a mom and having raised two children into adult hood, number one, i would bring my own juice in my sippy cup.

Any mother who would hand over their child's sippy cup to a complete stranger, and TRUST that stranger to fill the cup with 'juice' is clearly not very intelligent or socially educated. I would have asked for the juice and then I would have put the juice in the sippy cup myself OR I would have brought my own drinks for my child. In any event...............how terrible for that poor baby!!!!!!!

This happened at Applebees in Muskegon Michigan about 14 years ago to my 1 year old niece ! They kept Long Island ice tea (before the cola) in a tupperware right next to the lemon aid in the same type of tupperware ! The child got plastered !
