Koral Wira Bitten by Barracuda: Photo Op Before Trip to Hospital

While fishing with her family in Venice, Florida, 14-year-old Koral Wira was bitten by a four-foot-long barracuda. The toothy fish leaped into the boat tore up Koral's arm before it was killed.

The photos of the barracuda attack, linked below, are slightly gruesome, and you can clearly see how big the fish's teeth are. Strangest, though, is the last photo in the barracuda slideshow, depicting Koral's father, Rob Parker, posing for a photo with the barracuda and his visibly-distressed daughter... before taking her to the hospital.

Indeed, Parker sent the photos to Field & Stream himself.

After anchoring the boat 4 miles off shore, Parker baited his rod with herring. Wira switched seats to get out of the hot sun, and watched as her dad cast. Moments later, she heard a splash and saw a long silver flash in the air. A barracuda jumped from the water and opened its mouth. As it hit her left arm, it clamped down with razor teeth.
Her arm needed 51 stitches, and doctors told her they had never treated a barracuda bite.

I think this will be something that daughter will hold over his head for the rest of their natural lives.  Posing to take a picture, that's just too funny!www.arrecoilless.com
