BlackBerry for babies set to launch
Leapfrog, a company specializing on toys for kids is set to release a version of the Blackberry for toddlers which teaches them how to "browse" and "text" without having to go online.
This BlackBerry for kids is an educational toy with a keyboard and LCD screen that allows children to text Scout, a virtual puppy pal. There is also a calendar option for kids to learn dates and help develop basic computer skills.
Dubbed the 'BlackBerry for babies' the 'Text and Learn' device from LeapFrog looks like an over-sized PDA and is designed for children as young as three-years-old.
The gadget helps youngsters learn how to 'browse' and 'text' without going online, allaying parental fears of their children being contacted by strangers or cyber-bullies.
This toddler BlackBerry is set to go on sale in August at the cost of £19.99.
What do you think of this toy? Is it really that essential to teach babies how to browse and text?

I think babies have been getting along just fine without texting by the age of 2. Call me old fashioned, but I think we can leave the cyber learning until the ripe old age of, oh, 6.
