Blind Peruvian woman denied admission to Shizuoka fitness clubs

A blind Peruvian woman who lives in Hamamatsu, Shizuoka Prefecture, has been denied admission by two sports clubs with one citing concern for ‘‘inconveniencing other guests,’’ the woman said Thursday. Wendi Yamashiro, 33, told a press conference at the city hall that she applied for membership of the two gyms in the city along with three family members including her mother and younger brother in March and May, but she alone had her application turned down.
