Bowen Kerins Wins 2009 World Pinball Championship

Bowen Kerins of Salem, MA won the World Pinball Championship for the second year in a row.
Kerins, who worked as a textbook writer during the day, topped 64 of the the best pinball players in the world to win the title at the World Pinball Championship held in London, England. The victory makes Kerins the #3 ranked pinball player in the world.
“Bowen’s achievement is truly remarkable, especially given that for the first time in competitive pinball history a World Championship was held on foreign soil,’’ said Zachary Sharpe, vice president of the International Flipper Pinball Association. “For him to not only travel and compete head-to-head against 64 of the world’s top players from 15 countries, but to also capture this title two years in a row, it’s nothing short of spectacular.’’
When not winning pinball championships, Bowen Kerins lives in Salem with his wife in a condo with three pinball machines.
