Canada’s Moral Dilemma: Torture by CSIS – a crisis in democracy

It’s just like “The Stasi” treated dissidents, except this human rights abuse is happening in Canada today. Some call it no-touch torture. The Stasi called it Zerzetsen.

In an article about the torture of a Canadian citizen at the behest of CSIS in the Sudan, The Globe and Mail recently stated that “This case exemplifies how morally confused Canadian authorities have become .... Somehow, human rights have become viewed as an inconvenience, and not a legal obligation.”

But, one doesn't have to look to the 3rd world to find proof of the complicity of CSIS in torture and of the Canadian Establishment’s moral confusion on Human Rights. Below is just one example. I would doubt that it is the only one. The Wiki’s URL is:

http://zerzetzen.wikispaces.com

The torture described in this Wiki is not of the medieval type that leaves marks, but a more modern Orwellian 1984 type of torture that is sometimes called Zerzetsen since it was developed by the former GDR secret police "the Stasi" to persecute dissidents. It is being used today in Canada by CSIS to persecute this innocent family.

The measure of the quality of the democracy is not whether a country’s institutions respect Rule of Law most of the time, but that they also respect Rule of Law where their establishments are pulling the other way.

Embedded in the Wiki is a file of letters from Cabinet Ministers, Police and others that prove that the matter is being covered-up at the highest levels to ensure that no honest investigation takes place. If you look at the Wiki you will see why.

Proof that CSIS practices torture in Canada

Quite simply the Wiki describes how elements in the top establishment have used the CSIS intelligence services as a private crime gang to persecute a decent Canadian family and that our politicians are too scared of their own intelligence services to enforce rule of law.

In the Wiki is a blueprint on the use of the Zerzetsen Torture Technique today by MI5, MI6 in the UK, and CSIS in Canada. Read this Wiki and you will know what Zerzetsen is and how the intelligence services do it.

This all started with a slanderous group of people in Vancouver years ago. They slandered this former executive; they also slandered other executive leavers. Unfortunately they were able to influence even stupider people high in the establishment, and this set the intelligence services (CSIS) going and somehow everything got ratcheted up into zerzetsen torture.

The galling thing is that CSIS is carrying out this torture for people whom they know are not only evil, but also extremely stupid.

What followed on?

Shots fired, a car run into his house, threatening phone calls to his children, he is under surveillance, and he can’t find work as people are scared to hire him. His wife has had to live with death threats against her children for over 10 years.

Over 1,000 threats. Go to the Wiki and look at Ch. 5. See the threats for yourself, and note the corroborative evidence that is available for verification.

There are multiple witnesses to support his allegations of threats and cover-up, and before speaking out he made every attempt to go through normal channels - police, politicians.

Look at Ch. 4 of the Wiki and you will see sufficient documentary evidence to prove the cover-up conspiracy exists. The facts were put before Canada's Prime Minister Harper and former UK-PM Blair and the cover-up still continues.

Are the politicians scared of Grosvenor, or just scared of CSIS?  Grosvenor is plugged in at the top of the world’s financial establishment, and its owner is Prince Charles’s best friend.

Zerzetsen by CSIS “no touch torture” – slander, surveillance, telephone tapping, Intimidation, harassment, death threats

Of course zerzetsen does differ from the more medieval bloodier old fashioned forms of torture that the Globe is referring to. Zerzetsen was developed by the Stasi to cause intense suffering without leaving marks.

But, If one thinks that zerzetsen (sometimes called ‘no touch” torture) is less nasty that the medieval alternative, then look at the WIKi – Ch. 5 “zerzetsen death threats / psychological torture” - and see for yourself.  10 years of this is far worse than 6 months unpleasantness in a foreign jail.

Victims of zerzetsen are never executed. There are many death threats, but if finally carried out it is made to look like an accident.

And there are other differences too. For example, none of the victims of the more medieval form of torture that the Globe referred to had their wives and children threatened with death (individuals were threatened, but not their family), none of them lasted over 10 years, and all of them had help from Canada’s human rights industry. But the major difference is who is behind the torture. Ask yourself – Who is being protected from justice?

Neutering Canada’s human rights industry

What is interesting is the absence of the Human Rights Industry. Human rights are seemingly fashion conscious.  Abuses that come from the establishment at home are definitely not fashionable. Contrary to popular belief there is no human rights organization in Canada to which victims of zerzetsen can turn to for help.

There is no doubt that an issue like this one, that goes to the establishment, and targets CSIS for practicing torture itself at home, is a very unfashionable issue.

How unfashionable? In 1993 Pierre Sane the then Secretary-General of Amnesty said that “Governments are prepared to go to great lengths to cover up their crimes….  So, they set up phony human rights institutions” Of course this does not suggest that these organizations are necessarily false flag operations. Indeed, according to Dr. Dove’s “The Torture Report” one (human rights) organization in the UK complained of being targeted by the British security services. This kind of harassment, plus the certain loss of government funding, is intended to keep human rights organizations 'in line'.

One former AI Board member, Francis Boyle, referring to the importance of government funding, also stated “Amnesty International is primarily motivated not by human rights but by publicity. Second comes money. Third comes getting more members. Fourth, internal turf battles. And then finally, human rights,”

Lions when dealing with Pinochet types thousands of miles away, our human rights industry are wimps when it comes to human rights matters that relate to our own high establishment at home. Clearly funding is a high priority; though morality is not.

Submission to Parliament on Human Rights**

This WIKI has been formally put before the JUST Parliamentary Committee. It is to be hoped the JUST Committee will have the courage to hear the issue, and that it will not continue to be covered-up.  Here are extracts from the submission:

“These human rights abuses started in Vancouver. A nasty slandering which led on to death threats, and so much else. You will note from the Wiki that the names of several witnesses, and that 3rd party documentary proof of the government cover-up conspiracy, are on the internet.

Your committee should hear this issue since it involves (1) Serious wrongs in the Canadian Human Rights Commission who (like everybody else) are scared to deal with this issue (2) Proof that CSIS perjured themselves in the O’Brian hearings since the evidence proves that CSIS does condone torture at least in my case (3) a systemic failure in rule of law and human rights across Canada.

Why are these horrible human rights abuses being covered-up? The owner of the company that slandered me is Prince Charles’s best friend, and some think that royal family members are involved. Hence the involvement also of MI5/6 in the UK, and CSIS in Canada.  This may be a good argument for a republic; it should not be an argument for overriding rule of law, and for the systemic failure of our institutions and the neutering of parliament.

This is a modern Dreyfus case and your Committee should examine it.”

If politicians have the courage to examine this case it would prove that our intelligence services do not just condone torture but are actively involved in it. Is this just too shocking to be heard?

Rule of Law in Canada – what’s that?

As the Wiki shows, CSIS are not telling the truth about torture in Canada as they know very well. But it’s worse than that – Canada’s government is covering the matter up.

Edmund Burke so well defined this policy of appeasement - “It is necessary only for the good man to do nothing for evil to triumph.”

We seem to be moving from an age of rule of law and responsible democracy, to one of arbitrary rule by the intelligence services and the high establishment they represent.  Human Rights, Civil Liberties, and integrity seem unimportant. Some would call this neo-fascism.

The measure of the quality of the democracy is not whether a country’s institutions respect Rule of Law most of the time, but that they also respect Rule of Law where their establishments are pulling the other way. My experience shows that the behavior of our intelligence services is now so bad, and our politicians now so neutered by the establishment, that Canada does not pass this basic test of democracy.

Alert - At 3:25 AM on 9/12/09 all archived messages on my email account rtmrussell_ba_ca@yahoo.ca were obliterated and a completely false message sent to some of my contacts on my address list. I won’t repeat the message except to say that it was sent under the title “I’m screwed, please do something” This is just another example of the extent to which the MI5, MI6  intelligence services in the UK and CSIS in Canada will go to muddy the waters and try and stop this story from being honestly investigated. The purpose of the intelligence services in sending these messages is to try and confuse the issue.

The true story is on the wiki:

http://zerzetzen.wikispaces.com

It is time that the Parliamentary JUST Committee had the courage to look at this important issue.

Reply: To S Rule - And I thought Mrs. Blair was a human rights lawyer too? It just goes to show you what a bunch some in the human rights industry are. In my case I am pressing for justice no matter what; I can't guarantee that I will be here when the case gets resolved, but I guarantee it will get resolved.  If you have read my wiki you will note that MI5, MI6 & CSIS, acting for criminal elements in the high establishment, have neutered our government, our parliament, our human rights industry, and our mainstream press. It is in the public interest that justice is done and nothing will deflect me from it.  Roderick Russell
