Casino Denies Man Jackpot: Bill Seebeck Denied $166 Million Prize
Bill Seebeck thought it was the luckiest day of his life. Seebeck was playing a slot machine at the Seminole Hard Rock Casino in Tampa when the machine indicated that he had won a staggering $166,666,666.65. The joy didn't last long, however, as the casino denied the man's jackpot because it was caused by a machine malfunction.
According to officials at the Seminole Hard Rock Casino, the maximum possible jackpot possible on the machine Bill Seebeck played was $90,000, well short of the $166 million jackpot.
This isn't the first time this has happened. A patron at a Seminole Casino in California thought he had a $259,000 denied after officials stated it was caused by a computer error. In that case, the casino decided to pay the full amount.
As for Bill Seebeck, he was considering legal action, but it appears he has now agreed to an undisclosed "good faith" settlement from the Seminole Hard Rock Casino.

I would be furious if I did not at least receive the 90k. To have such elation ripped away from you after being told you won't receive a dime because of a malfunction is simply wrong. If I'm ever in the area, you can be sure I won't be visiting the Seminole Hard Rock.

The reservations make their own rules. It's really common in New Mexico for people to win jackpots and the casinos claim a "malfunction". Since they have their own government, there's no way to sue or get anything other than a couple of free buffet coupons. It's really bogus.

Missywissy: It is not just Indian casinos. Every casino has the same rules. It's their game and their rules. So you have to be an idiot to play any of the casino games.

Ohio just passed a bill for FOUR casinos to be built in Ohio. It just shows how honest the casinos really are when a win must come a malfunctioning machine. In other words you have NO chance at all.

The max win on the machine ( with max bet played ) is $90,000. He was playing half the max bet which has a max prize of $2500. But seeing how he's american he will prob try to sue. Bye from Canada....

Wow! I am glad the gaming board decided to part with something. So that is good. I am a slotter and I play the tables as well but with the slot machines you have to read the fine print. That's why it's called Gambling! LOL!
