Cat with an Arrow in His Head Survives: Photo
Max the Cat Survives with Arrow in His Head
Max, a three-year-old cat hailing from Live Oak, California, was shot in the head with an arrow by an unknown scumbag. Max was missing for two days before showing up at his owners' home with an arrow through his head.
The weird thing was that the cat was behaving normally, even with an arrow sticking through his head. Max's owners, Brad and Nancy Paquin, took him to Santa Cruz County Animal Services, where an arrow-ectomy was performed. The arrow had gone through Max's ear and the side of his head, but doesn't seem to have hit his brain at all.
Max is fine, except for a pierced ear. His family has decided that he is now a housecat.
There are no suspects in the strange case of the cat with an arrow through its head: if it turns out that the shooting was intentional, then the archer would face animal cruelty charges.
The prime suspect would be a kid with a mean streak. "I wanted people to know this happened because, to me, I think it has to be a kid who did it," Paquin said. "The arrow was short enough that it couldn't have been the type of high-powered bow an adult would use ... If there is a kid who didn't think of the consequences, or needs help and is shooting at animals in the neighborhood, that has to be addressed."
