Here is some breaking news about cats:
If you've ever wondered who's in control, you or your cat, a new study points to the obvious. It's your cat.Household cats exercise this control with a certain type of urgent-sounding, high-pitched meow, according to the findings.

Most of us cat lovers marvel at our cats' feigned indifference to us, most of the time, as they take full control of the household!

we have two cats for 9 years. They let us know fully when they want attention. They then roll over on their backs and expect us to stroke their bellies.Weird cats. lol

Oh my cat is definitely in control of me, and he knows it... :)

I thought about this some years ago when I noticed my new-ish cat was modulating his noises over time to develop the most effective wail. It's not insidious of course. Just Pavlovian. The cat starts with a number of meouw styles and tweaks and refines the ones that get the best responses... I imagine all animals in captivity do the same. Just some people are obsessed with cats and their anthropomorphically deemed Machiavellian nature...
