After lunch, we continued on Market Street to check out Penn’s Landing during the day. And that is when I spotted an old fashion ice cream shop. The Franklin Fountain looked exactly like a soda fountain shoppe from the ‘50s. I fell in love with the feel of the place, but after seeing the menu, I fell in love with the choices also. Rob and I got a Lightning Rod to split, which was according to the menu, “A dark chocolate brownie surmounted by COFFEE ice cream bathed in a DOUBLE-SHOT of ESPRESSO and peppered with chocolate covered espresso beans, sweet coconut flakes and finished with a pretzel rod. Will surely ELECTRIFY even the most enervated.” We sat outside enjoying the sun with eating this enormous sundae. It was a beautiful day out.
