Champagne, Caviar and a little evening gunfire
A second shooting in one of Toronto`s classy, upscale neighbourhoods in less then a week has this reporter wondering ? Is there no bastion of safety left in this city ? Nowhere for me an my posh aristocrat buddies to gather for pints of Amsterdam and conversation of the worldly variety ?

A week ago it was a similar incident in the equally upscale Harbourfront district
Police are looking for up to four suspects after a shooting on Toronto's Harbourfront.
The shooting took place at around 12:15 a.m. as a large crowd was coming off the Northern Spirit cruise ship that had just finished sailing around the harbour.
When patios are nothing more the an invitation for gunmen to participate in caged killings, Money can’t buy happiness and apparently safety either, yuppies be warned I’m headed west for the fresh air and an ocean view.

Gun crime is making itself at home in Toronto... Michael Moore just lost his best comparison.

We had some of these in Vancouver late last year - though this year has been relatively quiet... so far anyway.

I missed the Harbourfront shooting by four hours thank God! It would have made for a Hell of a story though!
Sadly the GTA is becoming unsafe everywhere for everyone IMHO but Statistics Canada will say different.
What bothers me is the growing amount of taxes raped from this city's taxpayer and nothing ever changes. Toronto saw 84 murders last year which surpassed 2005 aka "Year of the Gun" which had an even 80. But there are rumours that minor crime is down. Well, I guess it’s OK then.

mr.zoltanblack, I like this story. It's good stuff. Welcome to Vangroovy, just look for restaurant and patio signs that state, Gangs not welcome or we'll call the police. Of course as if Gangs march into patios proclaiming We're here!! See our Gats!
