This is a disgusting story, but I am sure this happens all the time. I wonder if there is such a stat or poll which shows how often your food gets tampered with. I personally think it happens quite frequently and there isn't too much we can do about it besides being on our best behaviours in restaurants.

A former restaurant cook who has pleaded guilty to a food-tampering charge in Washington County has been sentenced to six months behind bars and three years probation. Ryan Kropp, of West Bend, was fired along with another cook after a Feb. 23 incident at the Texas Roadhouse restaurant in West Bend.

The 24-year-old is accused of inserting hairs in a steak before giving it to a dissatisfied customer.

Kropp apologized in court Tuesday, saying he was ashamed, embarrassed and remorseful. He will be allowed work release.

The patrol who got the steak, Kevin Hansen, says he doesn't accept his apology and Kropp deserves more time. He says he and his family don't eat out anymore.

I never knew you could serve time for such an act. I thought the worst is a slap on the wrist and fired from the restaurant. Maybe the punishments should be a lot harsher in order to keep restaurant staffs from tampering with your food. Nothing more disgusting than having your food spat in or dragged around the floor.

hair is nothing compared to other human compounds added to restaurant food.  we do not eat out at all.  i do not understand how people can when they know what they are eating or maybe not know.

About the steak:
I ordered a "Red deer steak" (main dish).
It was red and soft inside, cuttable and had a delicious taste.
I ordered this because the waitress advised me to. Friendly and useful staff.

Lets just say when I was young, I had a friend (of a friend) who cooked at a diner visited by the local police who were not such nice guys. According to stories, they had extra fluffy scrambled eggs.

Needless to say I don't eat out much.....

I had a good experience going to Texas Roadhouse but ICK, I don't even like to think about things being put into my food. I think they have been a little harsh though. I also would have thought they would just fire him and let him go but I guess we are getting more serious about messing with peoples food.
