A thief in Ocala, Florida broke into the Dollar General Store by smashing the glass door early on June 16, stealing a box of Oreo Cakesters. This is the second such robbery within five months.

According to the Ocala Star-Banner, the same store was targeted by a burglar in February. In that incident, the suspect made off with snack cakes and other items.

The thief, who was caught on camera but not yet identified, stole $2.50 worth of Cakesters, and, for reasons unknown, did not steal any of the original Oreo cookies, or, indeed, any other brand of cookie or snack cake.

Ocala (home to the Great American Cookie Company) is no stranger to cookie-related crime, as a Girl Scout den mother's home was robbed for $1,600 in Girl Scout cookie money in 2006.

The Ocala troop, made up of Brownies and Jr. Scouts, reported someone walked into the den mother's home and picked up $1,600 in cash generated from the sale of Samoas, Tagalongs, Trefoils, Thin Mints, Lemon Coolers and other cookies sold as part the Girl Scouts' biggest annual fundraiser.
