I've never fired a gun. I grew up in the suburbs of Chicago where only the criminals and cops had guns. It's not actually something I thought about a lot.
Jeff is a gun collector. (Before any nuts in the gun-control community jump on me, let me stress that means he owns some very beautiful weapons as a hobby and an investment and is incredibly responsible about them, their care and proper storage) And I've talked to him about guns in general, and about his interest in them. And as he still has permits valid in CT (he used to live there) he brought this one with him to show me this weekend. It was rather fascinating. Heavier than the prop guns I've handled. But not as scary as I think I expected it to be.
For the curious, this particular pistol is a 1965 Colt Python.
