Canada's Conservative party is mobilizing an array of swear-wordish phrases to scorn Stephane Dion's new carbon tax plan. The Liberal Leader played right into enemy hands by labeling his plan the "green-shift."
The Conservatives shifted into the comedy zone today as they continued to poo-poo Liberal Leader Stephane Dion's anticipated "Green Shift" plan for the environment.

Conservative MP Jason Kenney says if the Liberals get their way, Canadians will be "shift out of luck."

Kenney told the Commons today a slogan taxpayers might adopt for the carbon tax that's included in the plan could be "shift happens."

Stephen Harper today issued a more traditional (though still not inappropriate) swear-word condemnation.

The prime minister had some uncharacteristically blunt words Friday for a carbon tax proposal by Stephane Dion's Liberals, saying it would "screw" the country.
"(The carbon tax plan) is like the national energy program in the sense that the national energy program was designed to screw the West and really damage the energy sector - and this will do those things," Harper told a small crowd in Saskatoon.

"This is different in that this will actually screw everybody across the country."

julianw, I like this story. It's good stuff. Yea, when you have someone like Turd Burglar Stephane Dion and his merry bunch of jumping band waggoners, it's hard not to swear at him.

julianw, I like this story. It's good stuff.  What about the spending shortfall Dion is proposing?  Does that mean that general taxes will increase too?  Do those of us who have no access to public transit get a rebate on our carbon use?  What about the diesel we use in the farm tractor?  Farmers are not in a position to donate food.  Everything will cost more.  While I'm at it do I get money for the trees that I don't cut down?
