Hector, the great dane dog has survived after an operation to remove a two-foot long stick it had swallowed. He was very lucky the stick did no internal damage.
A dog was left feeling down at the mouth after swallowing a two-foot stick.
Hector got the 62cm conifer branch lodged between his neck and his stomach while playing in the garden.
But amazingly the paw pup still managed to woof down his dinner and owner Pamela Panting did not realise there was a problem until he refused his breakfast the next day.
At the vets an x-ray showed he had swallowed a massive stick, which was causing Hector to feel ruff.
