Drunken Negro Head Cookies Inspire Outrage, Lafayette Bakery

A popular Greenwich Village bakery made famous by Sex and the City outraged regulars and locals when it released its "Drunken Negro Face" cookie in "honor" of President Obama's inauguration. When asked about the seemingly racist cookies Ted Kefalinos, proprietor of Lafayette French Pastry, was quick to state,
They're in honor of our new president. He's following in the same path of Abraham Lincoln; he will get his."
Though he denies it, Kefalinos seems to be suggesting that Obama will eventually be assassinated.
Kefalinos denies intimating that Obama would be assassinated, and insists that the cookie is "not unflattering. I think it's a fun face... And anyone who says anything else should be ashamed of themselves."
Kefalinos further added that he couldn't be considered racist because his brother-in-law is Cuban.
Lafayette French Pastry has a history of releasing "timely" cookies inspired by current events, including a "dead geese bread" inspired by the Hudson River plane crash.

Why does the fact that he had the poor taste to introduce these cookies paired with the fact that he mentioned President Obama's tendency to follow Lincoln's lead, result anyone in anyone believing that this is a statement that he will be assassinated? I really do not get that connection.

There is nothing racist with drunken negro face cookies, if it was a white man, nothing would have ever been said about this! Most of us black people are just as racist and pig-headed as the next person. I say if most of them don't like it, I'll personally pay for their one way ticket back to Africa.
