Remember the Montauk Monster? There May Be a 2012 Version Which Popped Out of the East River.

A strange creature has popped out in the East River. July 25, 2012 photos appear to show a strange beast that appeared off the shores of the East River.

Gawker is all over the story, noting that several people have different stories about what the East Bay creature is: it could be a pig (a claim that some deny) or a rat. Or, of course, it could be some other type of strange beast.
