Elmo Fight: Jeremie Trespalacios Takes on Violent Shopper

A belligerent shopper at the Guitar Center store in Winter Park, Florida got more than he bargained for when he attacked Elmo. Jeramie Trespalacios, wearing an Elmo costume for a promotional event at the store, was attacked by another man who had been accosting other store visitors.

Elmo was having none of it. The fuzzy gloves were off, and Trespalacios threw the attacker through a glass display case.

The man who got his ass kicked by a muppet has not been publicly named, and suffered broken fingers after stepping to Elmo. Meanwhile, perhaps Sesame Street bosses should reconsider messing with Elmo's pal Katy Perry.

CNN affiliate WFTV said the man had been hired to perform as Elmo at a children's event and the attacker began throwing punches at the costumed man.
The scuffle sent the guitar store into chaos, according to store employees who called 911.
