Three Students Jump Out of Texas State University Dorm Window, 1 Dies

Three students at Texas State University jumped out of a first-floor at the Laurel Hall dormitory window and fell down a hillside. One of the students, Erin Hicks, died from the fall.

At around 2am on May, two female students (Erin Hicks and Kristin McCreery) and an unidentified male student jumped out the Laurel Hall dorm room window while police were responding to a noise complaint in the building. The Statesman article isn't really clear on whether or not the gathering in the same Laurel Hall dorm room from which the three students jumped was the cause of the noise complaint.

The male student climbed up to a nearby road to flag down assistance. Both women were taken to a nearby hospital, where Erin Hicks later died. Kristin McCreery remains hospitalized with back injuries.

According to KXAN, Erin Hicks was a 24-year-old sophomore at Texas State University, as well as a residence advisor.
