Ex-teacher sentenced for sexual exploitation

A former teacher is going to prison for sending sexually explicit cell phone text messages to a Greene County High School student.

Damien Henderson, who had taught the student at McLain Middle School,pleaded guilty in Greene County Circuit Court to child exploitation.

Greene County Circuit Court Judge Dale Harkey sentenced Henderson on Thursday to 20 years in prison, of which he will serve 10.

Henderson had showed up at what he thought was a meeting with the student but was arrested by law enforcement.

"This
case offers yet another example of the depravity of some adults who
target children through whatever communication means are available,"
District Attorney Tony Lawrence said.
