The Eye(d's) of March

March has now come to symbolize "March Madness" regarding collegiate basketball tournaments here in the USA.

But there was once a time..... as in the time of Caesar..... that these were known as the Ides of March. Specifically the 15th of March.

History reminds us of the infamous and ominous words of a soothsayer's words to the Emperor...

The other day I was out in the West Chester, Pa area on a photography shoot. We had just wrapped up shooting, and my client asked me what was going on in the sky.

I looked up and saw the following image.... I can not explain the phenomenon I was seeing in the sky. It appeared to be some HUMONGOUS sized perfect dark halo in the sky. It was eerie.

Now if that wasn't eerie enough, after I downloaded the image, I noticed a dark cigar/disc shaped object in the image. You can see it better in the ORIGINAL sized image in my FLICKR account. This is NOT any conventional fixed winged aircraft. For "scale" purposes, I'm also including another image that was shot shortly after this one. It is a convoy of military type aircraft ....however you can clearly tell these are KNOWN aircraft, even at this altitude. So what is the other "object" in the sky??? (which was shot about 2minutes prior ) Even at that altitude, and as large as this "object" appears to be from our point of view, we should still be able to see "wings" or something to indicate that it is a KNOWN type aircraft.

It took me awhile to come up with a title to this amazing story.... as to what I witnessed first hand.
With the sun , right in the middle of a dark halo... it kind of looks like a big eyeball...... after all...
