VICTORIA OSTEEN LATEST VIDEO REPORT
JURY: OSTEEN'S WIFE DIDN'T ASSAULT FLIGHT

The wife of megachurch pastor Joel Osteen did not assault a flight attendant in an angry tirade over a stain on her first-class seat, a civil jury unanimously ruled Thursday.

The jurors rejected the claims in a lawsuit filed by Continental Airlines flight attendant Sharon Brown, who had been seeking at least $405,000 for actual damages - physical and mental pain as a result of an attack she alleged took place before the start of a December 2005 flight from Houston to Vail, Colo.

"I'm glad it's over," Victoria Osteen said afterward. "I expected it because it's the truth and I know the truth always stands firm."

The wife of  famed preacher Joel Osteen, who is one of McCain's inspirations (says this Rolling Stone article),
got physical when her demands that a small spill on her seat be cleaned up were not immediately met, a flight attendant testified Thursday at a civil trial over the incident.

The testimony came during the civil trial of a lawsuit that accuses Victoria Osteen, the co-pastor a Houston megachurch, of assaulting a flight attendant before the start of a 2005 flight to Vail, Colo.

Continental Airlines flight attendant Sharon Brown alleges Victoria Osteen threw her against a bathroom door and elbowed her in the left breast during an angry outburst over some spilled liquid on her first-class seat. Brown claims Victoria Osteen became so upset she tried to get into the cockpit and had to be physically restrained.

The incident between Ms Osteen and Ms Brown is unfortunate, given the economic and political uncertainity of our times.  However, Ms Brown deserves the opportunity to be heard and to be treated in a civil manner while doing her job as a flight attendant.  If her health has been affected by this painful incident she deserves compensation.

Painful incident?  This incident caused "pain" requiring over $400,000 to make whole?  I bet that amouts to 6 to 10 years of full time work for a flight attendant!  You wonder why people hate lawyers so much?  It is wasteful lawsuits like these.

The other flight attendant backed up the word of the accusing attendant. But the rich prevail. The flight was delayed 2 hours. I can't believe that would happen over a 'minor' incident.
