Some people believe in the superstition that cats have nine lives, because cats can survive falls from high places with few, if any injuries. This gives the appearance that the cats return to life after sustaining a fatal accidents. Granted, they may sustain minor injuries, such as bloody noses, cracked teeth, or a few broken ribs, but they live to recover.

The story below proves that cats do have "nine lives"... :)

Curiosity nearly killed Freddy the cat when he climbed up a power pylon - and spent the next 18 hours clinging onto wires for dear life. The terrified moggy was too scared to move and had to be rescued from 25-ft high electricity lines.

His head was just inches from a live wire - which would have electrocuted him instantly - as he stood on an earth wire.

Passer-by Terry Davies raised the alarm after spotting Freddy on Coltsfoot Close in Amesbury, Wiltshire.
