Prince William, latest pin up Royal and action man, future Duke of Cornwall, showed off his newly acquired RAF wings, by using a £10 million Chinook helicopter to fly from Odiham in Hampshire to Woolwich Army Barracks in London to pick up his darling brother, Prince Harry and then fly on to to Isle of Wight to attend a cousin's weekend stag party.

Speaking in marketing spin, the RAF called the trip 'legitimate training' because it taught Wills how to fly over water ! - 'Prince William flew a legitimate training sortie which tested his new skills to the limit.'

How much to keep a Chinook in the air you may ask ? - £5,000 per hour.

How many Chinooks in the mummy's air force ? - 48

What military tool does mummy's army being killed off on a daily basis need in Afghanistan ? - Chinook helicopters

How many have been sent to Afghanistan ? - 10

Nick Harvey, Liberal Democrat MP said: 'This is serious kit with serious running costs. The public will not appreciate it being used as a stag do taxi service.'

Another Royal v's up at those being killed needlessly in a post colonial war.

Meanwhile, in the skies over Carnoustie, RAF Flying Instructor Marc Rodriguez decided to leave his flight plan, drop to four hundred feet and take a look at the Open Golf Tournament in progress. Seen on a spy satellite, he was grounded and placed before a Courts Martial which banned him from flying for two months and fined him £1,500.

When he inherits Daddy's unlimited budget, unaccounted for in many ways, the future Duke of Cornwall is certainly setting the trend in how to waste tax pounds.
