Garlic Town - Poole Holds It's Nose!
Ryveta is a popular crispbread in the UK but a new flavoured version has caused a stink in the upmarket holiday resort of Poole.
Residents say that the whole town smells of garlic when the crispbread is in production.
Poole has some of the highest priced real estate in the UK and the beautiful Dorset coastline to boot but even the sea breeze can't shift the smell of garlic when the bakery's baking this new crispbread especially in the hot days of summer.
Residents say their homes have been left stinking of the pungent root after the factory began producing a new garlic and rosemary flavoured snack.
Local resident Brenda Williams said: "I thought someone was cooking it. My daughter kept asking me for garlic for dinner."
A Borough of Poole council spokesman said: "During the summer we had complaints but we haven't had any recently.
"We did raise it with Ryvita and they said they would work on it which I understand they are continuing to do."
