NP Rank:
Garter Snakes Invade Seniors' Complex
A small town in Manitoba, Inwood, is coping with garter snakes invading a seniors' complex. The garter snakes are harmless snakes that normally grows to no more than two or three feet. In our Canadian winter they seek a warm place to hibernate, waiting for warm weather to emerge in the spring.
A seniors' apartment complex, owned by the provincial government is under siege with hundreds of garter snakes seeing shelter in their building.
"The Sun observed a garter snake slithering in a baseboard heater in the building. Another was seen climbing an outside wall.
"I was coming out of my apartment door and one fell onto my shoulder -- kerplunk," said Jim Monkman. "They can be pretty bad -- you want to vomit."CNEWS
In addition to the discomfort of finding a snake slithering through your bedroom, dead snakes have been found and of course, anything that eats needs to get rid of waste. Snake poop is really stinky.
