This is not yet the world's biggest tumor, but it is still unbelievable. German doctors successfully removed a 40-pound (18kg) malignant bone tumor from a Saudi Arabian woman. The tumor was growing in her pelvis and represented 1/3 of her body weight.
It was previously thought the woman would only live for a few more weeks when she arrived in the hospital in September, but after five operations, the patient is well enough to go home now.

If follow-up exams continue to show no sign of any tumor, the next steps will be to reconstruct the partially removed pelvis and give her an artificial hip.

The biggest tumor ever removed is a 45kg tumour which is 4 feet 5 inches in dimension. The tumor has been growing in the patient's buttocks since the age of 12 and after 24 years, doctors in the province of Guangdong removed it in a operation that took more than eight hours.
"Because of this, I haven't had a bath in the past two years, and had to stay in bed all the time. My sister quit her job to take care of me."
