weinermobile fail

A giant Oscar Mayer Wienermobile caused some damage yesterday when it crashed in to a Mount Pleasant home, luckily no one was home at the time.

The driver, a 22-year-old employee, was attempting to turn the wheels and turn the giant hot dog around in the driveway, and thought the vehicle was in reverse, but in fact, it was in drive. She shot forward, crashing in to the deck and garage.

Oscar Mayer spokeswoman Sydney Lindner apologized for any inconvenience to the home owner. Lindner says the company will work with insurance companies to fix the damage to the house and vehicle.

The damage was brutal and this wasn't the first wiener accident, but it is good publicity. See photos in this story..

It happened nearly about thirty five miles south of Milwaukee.

This is sad, funny and disturbingly symbolic all at the same time.

The wiener was just too enormous for the garage.  She should have put more ketchup on it first!

You too can become a driver!

There are seven wienermobiles in existence currently, with each assigned a part of the country. The hotdogger position of driving the wienermobile is an open position to U.S. citzens and the duration of the job lasts for one full year

...Only college seniors who are about to graduate are eligible for applying to this hotdogger position. Currently there are about 500 hotdogger alumni who have served as hotdoggers and driven the wienermobile.

how rediculous what kind of inexperienced driver doesn't remember if they changed gears or not ?? and then to gas it in the wrong direction ??
