The Girl Who Cries Blood: Rashida Khatoon and Twinkle Dwivedi
A lof of teens who cry blood have been popping up lately and the latest is known as "the girl who cries blood." The girl who cries blood is actually two different girls both from India. Rashida Khatoon and Twinkle Dwivedi are both young girls from India who suffer from an unusual affliction that makes them appear to cry blood. In fact, one of the two girls who cries blood, Twinkle Dwivedi, also bleeds from other parts of her body for no visible reason in the fashion of the Christian stigmata.
In late August 2009 another blood crying teen made headlines in the USA, Calvino Inman, 15 of Rockwood, TN. Combine the story Calvino Inman with the stories of Rashida Khatoon and Twinkle Dwivedi and it could seem like there a global epidemic of teens crying blood. Some may even think the teens who cry blood are holy. But crying blood really isn't new, and it isn't as mystical as faith may have some believe.
A rare condition not unknown to modern medicine is most likely the cause of the blood red tears. Known as Haemolacria the condition has a variety of causes from tumors to injury to hormonal changes in fertile women. Haemolacria manifests as bloody tears but the red tears are actually only partially composed of blood. The most extreme cases have a high concentration of blood in the tears but in milder manifestations it can go unnoticed by all but doctors.
However, although Haemolacria is a known condition in Western medicine to the people of rural India Rashida Khatoon, the girl who cries bloody tears, must seem like a marvel. The Hindi girl has been declared a holy vessel by local clerics and people in neighboring regions go on pilgrimage to see her cry her blood red tears.

Doctors in the region of Patna, northeast India, have no medical explanation as to the cause of this most unusual anomaly, but local Hindu holy men have declared Rashida a miracle. Followers bow in deference as they stand before her, showering her family with holy offerings.
“I do not feel any pain when it happens, but it’s a shock to see blood instead of water,” said Rashida of her most unusual situation.
What could be the cause of this weird occurrence? Some have suggested a brain tumor or malfunctioning of tear ducts, but there is no medical evidence to support that. No one in authority in fact, seems to know or will even venture a guess, which is even more disconcerting than to watch the phenomenon, which occurs every few hours.
Twinkle Dwivedi, the girl who cries blood and bleeds the stigmata
See video of Twinkle Dwivedi crying blood
For nearly two years, Twinkle has reported spontaneously bleeding from her eyes as well as her head, hands and other body parts — though there is no visible source or injury to explain it...
Sometime I believe we’ll find a cure … but we are broken now. We’ve lost faith.” - Nandani, Twinkle’s mother.
The bleeding from her eyes and even hands, head and elsewhere on her body appears to start anytime — when Twinkle is watching TV, playing or simply doing nothing. There is no visible injury that prompts it, and she feels little pain. In fact, when the blood is washed off, no cuts or scrapes are revealed … it’s as if it never happened.
Some say a bad omen has been cast; others think she is possessed and yet others think it could be self-inflicted. Twinkle and her mother Nandani have tried dispelling the spirits at their temple as well as seeking medical treatment. But even doctors at one of India’s best hospitals are baffled and have not been able to provide a single medical explanation.

You're joking, right? Did you actually see the special? The ending said that the evidence presented was "inconclusive," even though earlier in the show the American hematologist discovered that the blood did not come from the girl's tear ducts. On top of that, he, nor anyone aside from Twinkle's mother, saw the bleeding actually start. It was clearly a ploy so that the family could get a little cash and the doctor could acquire international fame. Honestly, I was appalled that "Nat Geo" aired it, because it was so obviously a farce. If it were not, they would have waited for the doctor to observe Twinkle 24/7 and witness the mystical bleeding occur and declare a reasonable diagnosis. That television station is clearly just scraping the bottom of the barrel because they so desperately need viewers. So, no. No one is "afraid" or "scared."Fun fact to leave you with : there has never been a proven case of stigmata. The people that continue to experience it refuse to be observed by doctors. The people that were observed by doctors were proven to be frauds.Good day.

Dragonair... I agree with you. After wasting an hour of my life (that I'll never get back) watching the program, I noticed that I was a bit upset. Upset, that Nat. Geo would actually air that program. It became obvious to me that young Twinkle and/or her mother were causing the blood to appear after going to visit the Priest. Before she and her mother left the church, it was mentioned that she went to the bathroom and when she returned...a miracle...there was blood dripping from her scalp! The absolute, concrete evidence that proved to me, that the whole business is a fraud, was when she became upset and stormed out of the room because she didn't like the doctor's pointed questions. It's awfully strange that no one else has seen the mysterious bleeding start. Shame on Nat Geo for actually airing that crap!

The fact that this is a known medical condition, should dispell the assumptions that this is a fake occurance. The one girls family is concerned that evil spirits are involved. If anything she should be regarded as a "holy being" GROW UP PEOPLE! Ignorance is soooooo last year

I read that the boy had many test done here in the US and still doctors can't come up with anything. I think it's strange that both girls are from India and in early adolescence when it appeared (I think it started recently for the boy too and he's 15). Perhaps it's hormone related? It would seem to me that if the blood is only in the tears that it could be like a nose bleed, only through the tear ducts. The articles say it happens several times per day, so it's not like they are crying about something. I would like to see some genetic testing done on them... maybe there's a link somewhere.

All the doctors think Twinkle Dwivedi is faking it.

The National Geographic special aired today and the analysis is shockingly just the opposite of what I was expecting. The diagnosis of haemolacria by the author was errant and based off of similar symptoms of known cases where blood is expelled through the tear ducts. In Twinkles case the blood mysteriously shows up on the surface of the skin and doesn't appear to come from anywhere. Read the Q&A from the Haemotologist who suspects that this is nothing is something entirely different: channel.nationalgeographic.com/episode/the-girl-who-cries-blood-4450/Overview26#tab-doctor-q-and-a

The absence of cuts or open wounds not readily shown fades the suspicion that the tears of blood are somehow fake ... as "fake" blood has to come from somewhere. Put away fear of the unkown, and believe in mystery, until the mystery unfolds and shows the truth, instead of leaning on the crutch that this may indeed may be fake!

This is very obviously a case of blood being "placed" rather than excreted. If you watched the show on Nat Geo it's very obvious. There's no other explanation. Shame on Nat Geo for not screening this story more closely - it's a certain hoax.

National Geographic should have never aired the blood crying girl show. They went on with this whole investigation, but no followup to the request by the doctor to film the girl in a controlled setting to observe the onset of bleeding, "without the mother and then with the mother". I think that the behavior of the girl, for a 14 yr old and the face of the mother tells the whole story. The child never made eye contact with anyone else than the mother, who questioned her about the bleeding. Why is she not in school, like every other 14 yr old in India? Where was the father, and what was his involvement or opinion? It is unusual to see a single mother with a child in India. It was not revealed if mother was single or not. Maybe the father left, because of the nutty mother and daughter. There should have been a psych evaluation of both. They consulted a religious leader and a top hematologist from Texas, and every physician in India. Think it is time. National Geographic wasted their time on this show with no conclusion. The filming of the bleeding should have been done and added to the piece. Poor story.

Yeah, really. I watched this whole SUPER long show on TV like an hour ago, and all I wanted to know was whether she had her own special disease that has never been reported before, or if she was just faking. They end the show with "we cant' know for sure whether it's a fake until we see an outburst in the contained rooms, until then it'll just be a mystery." Cool, thanks. Waste my life.

I just watched the National Geographic documentary on this yesterday and it said that the father works on the railroad and is rarely home, leaving solid care of the 3 daughters to the mother. I don't believe the mother causes her bleeding. Once again there are no marks after the blood is washed off and as the documentary showed the mother's blood type was A- not AB+ like Twinkle's. It's just sad that this family doesn't get answers and that the American Dr. hasn't followed up yet with the 24 hour observation of Twinkle to rule out whether it is "Twinkle Sydrome" or her mother causing it.

The child is not in school because the teachers refused to teach her. The family did not pull her out purposely. Her father is with the family, he is a railway worker who is hardly home because of his job. It is not unusual to see a single mother in India if you know anything about the country at all and some of the things that go on there. Lastly you shouldnt make any comments on THE STORY if you couldnt pick up any of the above information through the program.

The blood was real, she has a rare blood type, and its not the same as her mother..... I wonder
at 18:13 on September 14th, 2009
Obviously a bunch of idiot kids answered this forum- Have you NEVER seen an unexplained thing- stop being assholes and realize that you don't know nor can you explain away everything that happens in this world. It WAS her blood- a rare type and the mother and daughter agreed to be filmed- its the doctors who haven't followed through YET- Remember this story is new- Stop letting the x-box suck your brains out and think outside the box.

the article above clearly states that not all of the tears that are coming out of their face are traces of full blood there are some traces of blood there has to be other fluids in with the tears other then blood thats why some of you are saying that the blood doesn't look real. And how the hell would you know that the doctors are saying that the boy is faking it.Jesus is coming very soon.
