Golden Tate Caught Breaking into Top Pot Donut Shop

Seattle Seahawks rookie Golden Tate was caught by police after sneaking into the Top Pot Donut Ship in Bellevue, WA at 3 in the morning. TMZ obtained the 911 call made by the night baker on duty at the time. She described Golden Tate and his friend as acting "drunk and retarded", saying that Tate and his grabbed her car keys as well as some doughnuts after running behind the doughnut shop counter.

The Top Pot is on the ground floor of the building in which Golden Tate lives. The two returned to the scene of the crime while the now-annoyed night baker was still on the phone with 911 and returned the keys.

Police gave Golden Tate a warning, but took no further action. Your mileage may vary if you are not an NFL rookie.

Golden Tate issued a public apology for grabbing the doughnuts, but did not mention stealing the keys.

In the tape, the woman says both men were in the Top Pot bakery and stole her keys as well as some pastries, though they later returned the keys as she was on the phone with 911.

The woman says she thought the two were drunk and "being retarded."

Golden Tate's motivation for the heist: he just really, really likes maple bars. Perhaps he should have considered the CFL.

Golden later said he broke into the place because the smell of the maple bars was "irresistible."
